The Bayley Social-Emotional Scale and the Assessment of Preterm Infants: A Systematic Review

Abstract The Bayley scale is one of the most widely used instruments for assessing infant development. This article aimed to systematically review contribution social-emotional in assessment development preterm infants. systematic followed PRISMA guidelines and was registered PROSPERO. According inclusion criteria, 19 articles were selected from electronic databases. results indicate reduced rates evaluating children with lower gestational age, birth weight, association environmental, biological, hospital clinical factors. However, no analysis found between axes that guide milestones present developmental outcomes children. Bayley’s other methods can jointly compose a detailed sensitive protocol infants regarding early childhood emotional health care.
